friendlyway Presents Digital Signage at the viscom 2007!

friendlyway will exhibit at the viscom in Duesseldorf from 20–22 September 2007
August 15, 2007

viscom 2007, Halle 8b, Stand I 40 Munich, 15.08.2007 - Electronic product advertising with moving images is called digital signage, and is a form of dynamic advertising. In the years to come, digital signage is set to become an increasingly important addition to static and display case advertising. Digital signage is already increasingly used in heavily frequented places, such as public buildings, canteens, reception areas or window displays, in particular in shopping malls, airports, train stations, restaurants or main entrances to buildings. Digital signage broadcasts up-to-date information and eye-catching images, coupled with offers from current advertising campaigns.

Therefore, the Munich based company friendlyway, now presents a specially secured PC solution. The desktop computer, called "friendlyway admire", masks special safety functions in an elegant designer casing in a high gloss finish. A brilliant 17" display, PC and cabling are integrated into the vandal-proof stainless steel casing and offers hardly any contact surface for misuse. The display can be operated through impact-protected safety glass, by finger touch.

The pre-installed friendlyway secure browser software protects the operating system against unauthorised access. Additionally, the software enables the modification of the permitted surfing area as well as the keyboard functions. Over the remote monitoring function, the system functions can be permanently watched and the course of repair activated. The high system stability, as well as the protection against vandalism, significantly reduces the operating costs in comparison to standard PC systems. With the friendlyway admire, friendlyway has succeeded in combining a product economically with function and timeless design.

Michael Hoppe, Director of Software & Media Broadcasting at friendlyway, the digital signage experts in Munich, sees the opening of the first digital signage day at this year’s viscom trade show as an important step towards a broader awareness of digital signage in the advertising technology industry.

Hoppe is confident that “Advertising technology will very soon be exploiting the advantages of digital advertising on flat screens (plasma and LCD), rear projection systems and large area displays to a much greater extent.” Digital advertising posters are created using publishing software and are centrally controlled from an advertising technician’s PC. They are distributed in a cost-saving and future-oriented way. friendlyway supports these solutions with the latest hardware and easy-to-use editing and distribution software. In the last few years, friendlyway has implemented more than 15,000 displays and kiosk systems in this form. (http://www.friendlyway.com/digital-signage/touch-screen-kiosks/)

For businesses (friendlyway AG)
At the viscom 2007, friendlyway will not only be presenting different digital signage applications, but also the details of this kind of solution in various workshops, engaging experts in the discussion. In the demonstration area, at the very heart of the trade show, previous applications of the technology for customers from different sectors will be presented: from the digital poster to digital signage hardware and sector-specific software solutions (please see: http://www.friendlyway.com/solutions/indoor-overview/). The highlight of the trade show will be a draw for a friendlyway impress—an elegant digital advertising poster—as well as an example of the friendlyway composer—a digital signage software solution, with a total value of over 25,000 euros.
