Digital Signage for Duisburg’s Mercatorhalle

Munich, Germany, 28 November 2007 – As reported in the latest edition of the Medientechnik & Systemintegration trade journal, the Mercatorhalle in the recently completed CityPalais in Duisburg, Germany, was fitted with friendlyway digital screens about eight weeks ago. Replacing old-fashioned billposting for upcoming events and concerts, this digital form allows for short-term and flexible updating even just before an event is about to start.

The friendlyway d-sign 40 displays installed in Mercatorhalle (friendlyway d-sign 40) feature a modular system that consists of a high-luminance 40-inch LCD flat screen, a high-performance computer integrated into the display housing as well as the friendlyway composer 7 software. “One of the main reasons for choosing the friendlyway system was the composer software,” says Kai Thienwiebel, Mercatorhalle’s technical director, “as it perfectly suits the in-house advertisement requirement profile.”
