friendlyway and SpotMagic to Deliver Internet Content and Rich Broadcast Via friend@public™

The alliance allows consumers to interactively retrieve information at the point of service and respond immediately to broadcasts as they occur.

friendlyway officials said the agreement with SpotMagic will bring a rich media convergence of TV, radio and the Internet called POS-Media to friendlyway's friend@public™ as well as to mobile devices and PCs. POS-Media, or Point of Service-Media, is a synchronized service that allows consumers to interactively retrieve information.

friendlyway's stylish friend@public™ located in businesses, retail outlets and other public venues interact with consumers in new and creative ways, where and when they make buying decisions. The friend@public™ also allow merchants to deliver customized information that is relevant to each user's current buying behavior and provide them with information that is useful to them at the time of their purchase.

Under the agreement, friendlyway's signature friend@public™ Internet access stations will now be embedded with SpotMagic's "SpotTuner", a unique solution that provides unlimited channels of media broadcasting and distribution to the customer. Event, tradeshow and exposition marketers will be able to provide visitors the use of the PDA INFOuntain™, a kiosk which allows show attendees to view live broadcasts of event speakers while giving them the ability to concurrently download event specific content such as exhibit hall maps or event schedules to their mobile devices.

The technology convergence also allows users of MP3 shopping portals to view and interact with on-air music videos, while dynamically downloading music from multiple record labels via broadband Internet access. Shoppers at participating music retailers can interactively purchase the music being broadcast while retailers can select which titles to offer, providing a cost-effective retail outlet to market and distribute multimedia content.
