June 03, 2002

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—May 17, 2002– Two California companies today announced they are partnering to extend the functionality and versatility of a designer interactive kiosk with powerful wireless connectivity for laptops within a 300 feet range. Integrated wireless connectivity using WiFi (IEEE 802.11b) technology allows the interactive kiosk to extend Internet and software services to WiFi enabled users at trade shows, conferences, hotels and numerous public venues. friendlyway Inc. (http://www.friendlyway.com), developer and marketer of The Interactive Information Stations™ and Deep Blue Wireless Inc., (http://www.DeepBlueWireless.com), provider of integrated turnkey WiFi wireless solutions, are combining their products to extend powerful web-based services and Internet connectivity throughout corporate events, trade shows and hospitality markets. The companies say that together, their technologies provide the perfect marriage of powerful, centralized, interactive computing power coupled with extended reach to WiFi enabled laptop users. In one configuration, the Kiosk itself becomes wireless, avoiding the need to run cables throughout the trade show floor. In another configuration the Kiosk becomes a powerful “Trojan Horse”, offering wireless connectivity to laptop users at speeds up to 11 Mbps. This integrated Wireless Kiosk will debut at Media Relations 2002 being held May 21-22 in San Francisco.

friendlyway’s gracefully curved, floor standing aluminum or high-gloss black stations will now offer corporate event producers and venues the advantage of extending Internet access, email, dynamically updated event and expo information to any attendee on the showroom floor using an inexpensive WiFi PC card and a laptop computer. Integrated event registration, attendee data collection, and real-time event content and expo information adds to the list of powerful advantages already offered by friendlyway, which also includes Internet access, advanced streaming multimedia, PDA connectivity, purchase processing, video cameras, microphones and other devices.

Wireless connectivity also extends to desktop machines in booths, removing the need for cumbersome and unattractive cabling. Event showrooms and hotel properties have the added advantage of optional integration of Deep Blue Wireless public WiFi service. Deep Blue Wireless offers a turnkey package providing equipment, automated authentication, billing and toll free customer service, with no upfront equipment cost, little or no ongoing cost, and location owner revenue sharing.

“Integration of wireless connectivity extends the extraordinary suite of friendlyway software services to its natural destination, the tech savvy WiFi enabled laptop users who already appreciates the advantages of wireless connectivity. These users can now fully utilize the benefits of wireless broadband with applications and services never before offered”, says Deep Blue Wireless CEO and founder, Alan Gale.

"Using the friendlyway station as a host for the Deep Blue Wireless solution, makes an important statement that says the show's producers care about providing a top quality experience to all event participants," said friendlyway President, Alexander von Welczeck. "Together, friendlyway and Deep Blue Wireless can now provide powerful business and sponsorship solutions to producers and managers of tradeshows, events and executive conferences.
